poem 5

I watched you

I watched how you would smile at me at first,

Then you would nod at me and flirt.

I watched you singing the famous song

And singed to it with you along.

I lacked the confidence, but you

Looked at me, when I felt blue.

I wore the smile you gave to me tonight,

That's why I've never seen the light

Coming from the window – and the laugh

I told myself: 'That's the room above'.

Because I watched you going past the place,

So I could see your happy face

Gazing right at me, with the thought:

«How can a woman be so hot?»

I watched you sitting in the seat

Where you felt that burning heat,

And if I asked you that night for kiss

You would just say: «Yes, dare, please».

Because I've got your ardent letters

Expressing your thoughts on lovely matters;

I danced with you at starry nights

That connected our minds

To one, and only one...

And night, that we together won.

I heard you whisper, cozy sound,

The one that always brings me to the ground,

The one that wakes the goosebumps in the veins,

The one that covers panic waves,

The one that never scared me in the night,

When I wake up from nightmare, full of fright.

I have never told you this before

I don't want to interrupt you anymore:

I watched you talking for hours and hours,

Knowing the evening should be ours...

But have I ever told you that?

No, my darling, I’ve made you in my head.
